yum! after a very lazy sunday afternoon, i was in the mood for baking and what better than a crispy caramel apple crumble, it was scrumptious.
taken from bbc good food magazine:
three eating apples, peeled, cored and diced
carnation caramel tin
crumble mix
butter
crumble mix
butter
put the cubes of apple in a saucepan, add a splash of water, cover and put on high heat for 4-5 minutes until just soft. stir in two spoonfuls of caramel into the apples and add to a deep baking dish. Dot a little more caramel on top of the apples, meanwhile pour the crumble mix into the bowl, add a few cubes of butter and rub in until a crumbly texture. Stir in another spoonful of caramel into the crumble mix (this makes it all crispy and caramelised), then scatter crumble mixture over the apples. bake in a hot(ish) oven for twenty minutes until crispy and golden.
nom nom nom :) x
